Your prayers- a gift to the world

"Finally, one day,  after hearing yet more news about disagreement and impasse in negotiations between countries and leaders I asked myself what’s needed here? What can I do to help bring unity and agreement to these meetings? The answer came, “What’s needed is spiritual mediation right where there seems to be confrontation.”

In the Bible Paul says “There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Tim 2: 5)

Then I discovered Mary Baker Eddy’s statement from her book called 'NO and Yes' (31:17) “Jesus cast out evils, mediating between what is and is not, until a perfect consciousness is attained.”

I then thought how can I support mediation to help attain that “perfect consciousness” which can seem so illusive.

The idea came that I could hold in thought that the mediating spiritual presence of the Christ is already there, firmly in place, providing right ideas at any meeting. It makes no difference whether there are two people or a team negotiating – our job is to make sure we add one more to that room and it would be the CHRIST presence!

Like the Bible story of the three Hebrew boys in the burning fiery furnace. When Nebuchadnezzar said “ Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God." (Dan 3:25)

It’s a discipline, but the more I remember to do it, I find I’m getting better at it and am doing it more quickly. And it’s certainly bringing more peace to my thought."
