Prayers for Turkey and Syria hit by Earthquake
via Journal

Our Firm Foundation

All loving God,
Lead us up the mountain
Where we commune with you.
This higher view,
Where we are safe
And all is new.
Standing firm on this mount,
We see this vision, clear.
Above all strife and fear,
We hear your still, small voice.
We are one.
You our Father-Mother,
We your blessed creation.
Our home is here,
On this firm foundation.

In the week’s Lesson Sermon entitled ‘Christ Jesus’ was the demonstration by Jesus of the feeding of the five thousand (Section 3).  In thinking of those who have lost so much due to the earthquake this illustrates that all those in need will be supplied.  I love Mrs Eddy’s words in Science & Health, which I’m praying with each day, ‘Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need’ (S&H p.494)

I am finding the attached article (October 2006 Journal) very helpful when praying about the situation in Turkey and Syria....and remembering that when Elijah faced the earthquake, wind and fire, he saw that "the Lord was not in the earthquake".  God is not in the earthquake (Bruce Fitzwater, Journal October 2006)

Some verses from the International Children's Bible:

I am sure that nothing can separate us from the love God has for us. Not death, not life, not angels, not ruling spirits, nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us, nothing below us, or anything else in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  (Romans 8: 38, 39)
